Le Cri du Caire is a trio made up of Egyptian singer and poet Abdullah Miniawy, British saxophonist Peter Corser and cellist Karstern Hochapfel. The three musicians craft an intense experience carried by hypnotic instrumental loops and a poetic voice at the crossroads of spoken word and Sufi tradition. Their sound develops into dreamlike manifestos that blend modern Arab influences, jazz and experimental music. Strings, breath and vocals elevate their music towards a cosmogony that may be unknown. Le Cri du Caire is further musical proof that sometimes you need to leave the mundane behind to feel better.
