La Bête à Quatre's attitude and postures are inspired by the king's court. They claim to be noble, but are burlesque. They reflect an anti-nobility.
They fight, push and sing to maintain their status. The game that binds them together is the relationship between dominant and dominated. An absurd relationship that makes no sense, since we know they need each other to use their apparatus: the seesaw. You can't fly alone. Précieuse defends the territory of equality and equanimity.
